Building a Brand Before There Was a Building

Multifamily Branding - Stonington Village

Stonington Village is a brand-new, 232-unit community across six buildings in Pawcatuck, CT. When Resident360 came on board, the property didn’t have a name, a brand, or units to photograph. The challenge went beyond web design: this was a new construction community that needed an entire identity built from the ground up, in a market where prospective residents choose based on a strong sense of place — proximity to Mystic’s waterfront, Watch Hill’s beaches, and Stonington Borough’s historic streets.

Resident360 developed the community’s name, apartment logo, and visual identity, along with the multifamily brand messaging, narrative, and tagline that would carry it through every touchpoint. Every piece of this multifamily brand was built to work together, funneling prospective residents toward one goal: joining the VIP list ahead of the leasing timeline.

Brand story text describing Stonington Village's quiet neighborhood charm and New England architectural details
We explored a range of names and creative themes, all designed to support the community’s brand pillars, ultimately deciding that grounding the brand in the area’s history was the strongest strategic direction. The brand story, shown in condensed form above, emphasizes both the coastal location and the community’s unique sense of peace and place—evoking the charm and character of a New England village.

The identity leans into a calm, refined New England coastal aesthetic. The multifamily brand layers the community's palette with a deeper blue and lighter green, while avoiding literal coastal clichés like compass roses or burgees in favor of something more timeless.

To generate excitement and capture leads, we launched a landing page that brought the brand’s mood, tone, and messaging to life—setting the community up for a strong and strategic pre-leasing campaign.

We also built custom 3D floor plan renderings to give prospects a real sense of the homes before they were finished as well as an apartment website design that leans on grounded, place-based lifestyle photography rather than generic coastal imagery to sell the surrounding area's real appeal.

The brand messaging was written to speak to two very different residents at once — relocating professionals and downsizing empty nesters — united by the same desire for a grounded, residential coastal life.
